The Historical Society of Palm Desert's Old Firehouse Museum

4th Friday Old Firehouse Lecture Series

These lectures are presented by the Historical Society of Palm Desert in cooperation with the Desert Institute of Joshua Tree National Park Association. They're held at Palm Desert Community Center, 45-480 Portola Avenue, Palm Desert (N/E corner of Portola and Shadow Mountain Drive) at 7 PM. Coffee and cookies are served, with a recommended donation of $5.  For additional information call the Desert Institute At 760-367-5535 or the Historical Society at 760-346-6588. A slide show of historic photos will showing between 6 and 7. This event is open to the public.
 

February 24 - General Patton and the Desert Training Center. Jesse McKever, Historian and Bush Pilot.
 

March 23 - Season of the Sand Blossoms. Peter & Melanie Rhalter, Award-winning Film-makers.
 

April 27 - Are They Really Our Birds? Dee Zeller, Naturalist, Big Morongo Canyon Preserve.

This is our third venture with the Coachella Valley Watercolor artists.  There will be an opening reception on Saturday, February 4.  This is always an outstanding show with many works of art available for purchase.
