Fourth Friday Old Firehouse Lecture Series
Join us on the 4th Friday of each month to hear topics like why the Salton Sea is dying and what is being done to save it, hear the history of the Bradshaw Trail and why it was so important to the early pioneers in Southern California. Additional topics have been on Native American Pottery, the Marshall South family, Andy the Donkey Man, and varied discussions of interest to the community. Ed Mullins Picnic in the Park
Yearly picnic at Palm Desert Civic Center Park. Ed Mullins was considered a “pioneer” of Palm Desert and was the first recipient of the Founders Day Award in May of 1985. Red Shirts are worn identifying Society members. Need more information? 760.346.6588

Founders Day
Each year HSPD honors visionaries who donate time, talent and energy to better their local city and serve its citizens. Each May HSPD chooses a recipient and honors him/her at a reception attended by local dignitaries, members, and their guests. The public is always welcome and encouraged to attend. Mini Muster Fire Safety Program
In cooperation with the Riverside County Fire Department (Station #33), Desert Sands Unified School District and the cities of Palm Desert and Indian Wells, HSPD assists in providing fire safety training to 3rd grade students. Mini Muster has been sponsored by the Society for more than 15 years and over 8,000 children have received training. Want to help? Call 760.346.6588

Spring Firehouse Sale
A huge garage sale held behind the Old Firehouse on Saturday, March 15th. Join us and find that great treasure you have been trying to locate, or you may discover something you never knew you needed! It is a fun way to help fund our school tours to the firehouse for K-2 students attending six elementary schools.
